Expect large crowds during Makar Sankranti, Kartik Purnima, and Kumbh Mela; other times offer a quieter experience.
Wear modest, respectful clothing within temple premises; remove footwear before entering.
Toilets, drinking water, and rest areas are available within the dham premises.
First-aid camps operate during peak crowd periods; seek help from volunteers or administration if needed.

Puja materials are available at local shops; priest services can also be arranged on site.
Within the Chatara Dham premises, sites such as Shankaracharya Math, Ramanandacharya Sevapeeth, and Gita Brahmachintan Yogashram offer free or nominal-fee lodging for pilgrims. During major events like the Kumbh Mela, temporary camps and community dharamshalas are also set up.
Hotels, lodges, and restaurants are available around Koshi Pul, Bhedetar, and nearby market areas, offering local cuisine and standard meals. Day trips are also easily possible from Dharan and Itahari.
A Maha Kumbh Mela is held every 12 years and an Ardha Kumbh Mela every 6 years, drawing millions of devotees.
A grand religious fair is held at the Koka-Kaushiki confluence and Saptakaushiki Aarati site.
Hundreds of thousands of devotees from Nepal and India arrive for the sacred bath.
